Message from the President,
Dear friends, partners, supporters, members and future donors,
The NGO Solidarity Action for Mothers and Children (ASOME) through positive actions is finally here. It is recognized by the Senegalese Homeland Department services under number 13270 / MINT / DAGAT / DEL / AS but also by the American Government under number 501c3.
Its goals are to promote women and children’s well-being, to create and / or improve the conditions of healthy lives for the latters. In order to ensure that these vulnerable members of our population are able to benefit from these results, a number of challenges for ASOME NGO must be addressed:
Poor health is often caused by poverty, gender inequality, lack of education and social marginalization, as well as the inaccessibility of health services. Some of their rights, in terms of social protection for example, are not always respected, while women find it extremely difficult to assume their empowerment.
With regard to these challenges, we therefore tackled the improvement of women’s reproductive health, the care of people living with HIV / AIDS and other serious diseases, the protection of women and children against all forms of violence, sexual education for children, education for girls, the fight against exposed beggars children in the streets, vocational training for women and basically, the human rights defense.
This is how the NGO Solidarity Action for Women and Children (ASOME) responds to these issues.
Indeed, building together and sharing, beyond cultural, ethnic and religious divisions, a better and united world by improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations: this is ASOME’s ambition.
Our goal is to combine our efforts to bring about qualitative change within the community in general and the new generation of women in particular, through mutual assistance and the sharing of knowledge and skills.
The challenges faced and those to be taken up in the future are a source of motivation for us to continue to lead the fight so that women and children’s rights are irreversible gains.
